About the Frozen Four

The semi-finals and finals of the annual NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship are known as the Frozen Four, a nod to the NCAA Men's Division I Championship which is called the Final Four.  The Frozen Four is a single elimination competition that determines which team will be named the national champions of the 16-team NCAA Tournament.  The 2012 Frozen Four will be held at Tampa Bay Times Forum, with the national semi-finals held on April 5 at 4:30pm and 8pm and the National Championship game held on April 7 at 7pm.
